Codatta, a protocol to source quality account annotation and user annotation data, was thrilled to collaborate with Metis for a joint reward event. The primary objective of this campaign is to improve business-controlled account annotation coverage, driving Metis to be more compliance-ready to protect its users and improve the potential adoption of networks. This event marked another step for both partners to contribute to a better decentralized ecosystem.
As an Ethereum Layer 2 platform, Metis brought inspiring ideas and substantial support to the partnership. It focuses on improving blockchain scalability, reducing transaction costs, enhancing user and developer experience, and supporting decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). This joint campaign with Codatta unlocked extensive potential for improved security and decentralized management. Additionally, the Codatta protocol’s complete dataset covers 20% of Metis addresses, including wallets and a sizeable amount of potential risk addresses. This portion of the protocol’s data can be utilized by applications within the Metis ecosystem to enhance transaction security and provide other forms of assistance to users.
This 21-day joint reward activity attracted participants to complete their quests on the Codatta platform by submitting account annotation and cross-validating supplied annotation data with human investigation. Contributors, ranked by their submissions, received Metis tokens or Codatta points as rewards. Among nearly 10,000 participants, more than 30% of them finished at least one task with 4.6 submissions per user over 3 weeks. Data validation submitted comprises seventy-two categories, including wallet, infrastructure, Layer 2, NFT, and smart contract. It is worth mentioning that 95% of participants are new users of Metis, demonstrating our collaboration has successfully expanded our community.

There is still significant room for improvement in the user data submission rate. One initiative we are pursuing is developing a Chrome extension to provide a more convenient and intelligent submission path by integrating LLM (Large Language Models). This will enable users to collect evidence and submit annotations more seamlessly and efficiently. Developers, engineers, and ecosystem citizens from Codatta and Metis inspired the community by inviting participants to contribute to data annotation together, allowing for insightful analysis and specialized applications.
